  • Paul Harry head shot

Episode 68 - Reimagine a New Belonging with Paul Haury!

Recorded LIVE on April 10, 2023

Imagine being in Unite and Fight for each other, “instead of fight/flight”. Your performance goes to the next level. Real belonging, the kind that takes us beyond a “sense of” belonging, does this. It may take some reimagining.

Paul Haury, an Executive and Belonging Coach says,” Imagine you belonged to yourself, with your own brilliance and strengths, and with your people around you. You and your teams feel, own, and care for each other, in successes, dreams, and failures. Imagine your company with people that belong like that. They won’t let each other down, you, or your customers.

It’s about using real belonging to get you in your teams into optimal experience and performance.”

    Who is Paul Haury?

He guides people to experience and get into their “real” belonging. In self-belonging and in their own brilliance, and, within their company tribes, they live & perform better than they ever imagined. In his most recent endeavors, he’s served as VP of people & culture and then as a professional coach, specializing in belonging and optimal performance.

He notes that we perform at our highest when we belong and that gives us the bridge to believe and be in shared purpose. There’s belonging. And then there’s purpose. Without belonging, there’s no shared purpose. Only parallel. And we’re not made for parallel. We’re made to belong and believe in shared purpose.

When Paul’s around, you don’t just imagine, you step up, into real belonging and your real power!

  • Amanda Leis head shot amongst the ferns

Episode 73 - A Tree is What You Make of It with Amanda Lewis!

Watch LIVE on May 15, 2023

Amanda Lewis is a big-tree tracker and an award-winning book editor. Born in Ireland, she now divides her time between the internet and a small island on the west coast of Canada. Tracking Giants is her first book. Her book is for those who value qualitative assessment over quantitative criteria. She failed Math and she doesn’t really care about measuring trees. She just likes seeing big trees and being out in nature, and she’s always happy to go home at the end of the day and watch TV.

One of her main inspirations for the book is Seth Rogen’s memoir “Yearbook.” She
liked the funny, accessible, irreverent tone and have used a similar tone for my book. I wanted to balance humour alongside the tragedy of ecosystem destruction. Folks who grew up in the Lower Mainland (like Rogen did) or other areas of BC will find a lot of nostalgia here, from smoking up in gas station parking lots to playing in old-growth stumps in subdivisions. Her book is for anyone who grew up in suburbia.

Amanda Lewis’ original aim in writing this book was to personally track down all of B.C.’s biggest trees – was so comically grandiose that only an inexperienced newbie and devoted “indoorswoman” such as herself could have taken it on. “ Globe and Mail

Having said that: Thank you, Globe and Mail Books! Tracking Giants is a book to read this spring!

    Who is Amanda Lewis?

She’s solo by nature and originally tried to complete this project by herself. She realized that it’s really about the journey, and the company you keep along the
way. Tree tracking is so much more enjoyable and possible that way, and we can share tasks and strengths: holding the measuring tape for each other (each grabs an end and walks to measure the crown, for example), bringing snacks, reading maps. A few of the big-tree trackers she features in her book are now some of her closest friends.

  • Gail and Susan with their arms outstretched in front of a brick wall

Episode 76 - Happy Continuation Day – Learn, Unlearn, Relearn!

Recorded LIVE on June 12, 2023

Stop. Consider. Change. Correct. Connect: these are the 5 signs that greet you upon entering The Change Zone.

    Repeat. Ongoing.

The most important of all is to connect, to connect in Real Belonging: to make space where we connect with ourselves, internally, to make space to connect with those internally and externally within the places where we work, and finally to make space where we connect with our community, around the world and right next door.

The Change Zone, (Gail McDonald and Susan Always something Under Sneath) is delighted to present episode #76 (the final episode that will be broadcast on the Bold Brave Media Platform as a launch pad)

A few months back we decided we would transition into other mediums of “edutaining” for our audience. The highlight has been hosting all our amazing guests and connecting with our global audiences. So much wit and wisdom, learning, laughter, and love was shared.

We will delve into the wisdom of sages throughout time, -“So deep is the creative spirit that you will never discover its limits even if you search every trail!” (Heraclitus)

“There are times when in order to grow you have to let go of the very things that helped you attain success in the first place.” Roger Von Oech

And our own learnings: with every episode we needed to be imaginative, to tolerate ambiguity, reverse our expectations, view things metaphorically, and probe for hidden meanings. In short, we needed to adopt the mindset we (might choose to) use when we’re creating something.

We’d love to hear your experiences, comments, tips and other wit and wisdom that we might share next week, “Happy Continuation Day” episode. We are thankful and grateful for your presence, and gifting both our guests and our audiences with lively conversation, tears of joy and laughter and how together, we may have changed a few lives. Much Love!

You may respond on LinkedIn or via our email: changezonetalk@gmail.com

Rest assured that all the episodes are safe and sound on the various platforms in perpetuity.

Ongoing thanks to our ever-expanding community of Changemakers; Leaders who dare to step into the changes and resources right before us all.

May all respond to the call, the search, the struggle, the breakthroughs, and the return.

We want to hear from you. Call in LIVE 1-866-451-1451 or send us an email ChangeZoneTalk@gmail.com.
